22- Too --------to

too adjective to infinitive

It is used to join two sentences .

The camera was very expensive . T couldn’t buy it .

The camera was too expensive to buy .

The box is very heavy . he cannot lift it .

The box is too heavy [for her] to lift .

The coffee is quite hot . He cannot drink it .

The coffee is too hot [for him] to drink .

I cannot buy this book . It’s very expensive .

This book s too expensive [for me] to buy .


Exercise

Join the following sentences using [ too ……to ] :

1 . The ceiling was very high . Sonia couldn’t touch it .

The bottle is big enough to take a pint of milk .

Sam is very tall . He can reach the top shell .

Sam is tall enough to reach the top shelf .

Why doesn’t she drink the tea ?

She can’t . It’s not sweet enough .
